Flowers by Sea Container

In 2008, La Gaitana Farms started to experiment with the transport of flowers by sea container. Several trials were carried out and towards the end of 2008 various 40’ reefers containing carnations and mini carnations were shipped to Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The results are excellent and the vase life of the flowers exceeded expectations.

From Wednesday 01 April until Friday 03 April 2009, La Gaitana Farms participated in the Flowers & Hortech, Kiev, Ukraine.
The exhibition took place in Pavilion 1 of the International
Exhibition Center (IEC). The IEC is the biggest Exhibition Center in Kiev and has easy access by road and public transport.
140 companies exhibiting from 16 countries around the world, occupying approx. 4.250 square meters of indoor exhibition space.

La Gaitana Farms participated in the IFEX 2008 in Tokyo, Japan. The show was a big success for all participants and for the Colombian flower industry in general. Many contacts were established with Japanese businesses interested in Colombian flowers.
